APAA Kicks off New Year with Strategic Impact Goals
For nearly 25 years, APAA has delivered culturally congruent, recovery support solutions to build a healthier, happier, and more just world for individuals with substance use and mental health challenges. As we reflect on the new realities facing people from the pandemic and compounding social crises, APAA has developed five priorities for impact in 2022.
IMPACT GOAL 1. CLOSE THE FRONT DOOR TO ADDICTION
Reducing the risk factors for addiction by ramping up outreach, education, and advocacy initiatives.
IMPACT GOAL 2. OPEN THE BACK DOOR TO RECOVERY
Expanding entry points to recovery through virtual engagement & support.
IMPACT GOAL 3. STRENGTHEN INDIVIDUAL & FAMILY CONNECTIONS
Restoring the fabric of our community.
IMPACT GOAL 4. DISRUPT SYSTEMS AND MAKE SPACE FOR EVERYONE
Promoting recovery-friendly spaces through diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
IMPACT GOAL 5. IMPROVE COLLABORATION
Replacing silos with synergy; Leveraging knowledge and information for impact.
These priorities build on APAA’s program strengths and represent the ‘great equalizers,’ where swift action will have the most impact on progress for health, wellness, and recovery. They will require new strategic directions for APAA in its advocacy, training and development, education, and peer support programming in 2022.
